Opened in 1995 as an authentic artists’ project, the 'Luise' (AKA 'Arte Luise Kunsthotel') has developed into a comfortable hotel in the center of Berlin. The hotel has a total of 50 rooms, and each room was designed by a different artist based on their unique concept and philosophy.
The combination of the unique location in Berlin-Mitte, the inspiring realization of diverse artistic concepts, and the pleasant, urban atmosphere of this small hotel are the keys to the design inspiration. As human beings, we all have the nature of 'making stuff'. And Berlin is a city that’s so expressive, free, and allows us to face the true artistic self. In this project, I use a rough and handmade graphic element to create a quirky yet whimsical identity system for Arte Luise Hotel. The primary objective is to reflect the brand's and the city's personality. Meanwhile, to build an interaction with the audience by recalling the creative force rooted in every individual's soul.
